No! The Carplay Upgrades connects to your factory screen. If the factory screen is broken, cracked or does not work, the Carplay Upgrades won't fix it. It's necessary that the factory screen works normally for the Carplay Upgrades to also work normally.

This depends on the vehicle and product that you purchase.

For Carplay Upgrade: Generally one connector will go to your screen and two connectors will go to your headunit/radio. (This varies on each vehicle)

For Tesla-style Carplay Screens:
Generally factory connectors will go to our Tesla-style Unit.

For The Merge Box:
It connects to your vehicle USB port!

Most of our looms/connectors are prepped to be a 'Plug N Play' style, ensuring for an easy-to-do installation. There is no cutting or splicing with our upgrade.

Note: On some of our new products, some cutting and splicing may be required. We provide step-by-step video guidance for when it is the case.

Yes! If your vehicle initially had touch screen capabilities, then this feature will remain intact!

Yes! Absolutely! When we designed our Carplay Upgrade, Tesla-style Screens and The Merge Box, their main intention was to allow users to enjoy aftermarket features while maintaining their vehicle factory features.

Note: Please check the section "Retained Factory Functions" to see all the specific functions that are retained for your vehicle.

Yes! Same behaviour as it would from factory. Nothing changes. Your factory cameras will still override anything on the screen.
Just another great feature that Merge Screens products allow you to keep, without the need of cutting, rewiring or any of the sorts.

Note: Some vehicles have different signals and may require hardwiring.

Yes! All of our products have built-in motion bypass, so you do not need to worry about any anti-brake bypass or coding. Our products will still provide their wonderful features, while the car is still moving!

This holds for all our products: Carplay Upgrades, Tesla-style Carplay Screens and The Merge Box.

Yes! You will be able to select the audio channel whilst selecting whichever screen you prefer to look at.

Example: You may switch the display to the WAZE app through Apple CarPlay, while the audio channel is kept on the factory radio station channeling.

Note: Some of our products have the radio and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto built in on the same audio channel.

On some modules, a dedicated switch is provided and will need to be installed to do this. On some, a series of button clicks on your existing system toggle it from original system to Carplay.

The Carplay Upgrade uses your vehicle's existing AUX input. Please ensure that your vehicle has this option before purchasing and installing the Carplay Upgrade.

Yes! Languages on factory vehicles are seperate to our products. Our products will still work with your Vehicle. You may also select your own language on Apple CarPlay & Android auto (Through your phone).

Yes! Our products do not replace your factory Bluetooth connections, but instead will provide an improved new bluetooth connection!

Once connected to our bluetooth connection, your phone will then transfer audio and image, to our products, which then, displays on your vehicle screen.

There are THREE ways of getting a consistent internet connection on our products:

1. Any Wi-Fi connection
2. Phone hotspot
3. Using a SIM Card

 --> For Carplay Upgrades:
Insert a USB 4G/5G Dongle (Sim Card Dongle) that plugs into one of the provided USB inputs on our modules.

--> For Tesla-style Carplay Screens:
Insert the SIM Card directly to our SIM Card Holder.

--> For The Merge Box:
Insert the SIM Card directly into the SIM Card Port.

Yes! In rare cases where you encounter software glitches (even when new) with the Apple Carplay Upgrade, we provide you a software update in order to fix the issue. You will need a Windows computer and a USB thumb drive to do a software update.

Please note that we only provide the software and instructions. The hardware, as well as execution of the update, is the customer’s responsibility.

Sadly no! The Carplay Upgrade connects to your factory screen and the entirety of the vehicles system. If some of its component does not work properly, then the Carplay Upgrade will also not work properly under that specific part of the vehcile. It's necessary that the sound system works normally for the Carplay Upgrade to also work normaly.

No! Our system allows you to switch back and forth with a click of button. Wether you'd like to choose our system or the factory system for a specific trip, you're welcome to do that! It acts like a Desktop/Background Switcher! This system is another great reason, to not void any warranty from your dealerdship!

For Carplay Upgrades: Not needed! Our Carplay Modules will use your OEM original microphone!

For Tesla-style Carplay Screens: Some of our Tesla-style Carplay Screens will use your existing microphone, others, we will provide a high quality aftermarket microphone for improved microphone performance.
